:)

I don't have any new nails for you today, but I just have to express how happy I am.
Today was my first day of Nail School, mind you it was an extremely short first day, but exciting nonetheless.
We got our kits and got to go through them, plus my cousin is in the same class as me, how awesome is that?!

Anyways, I'll hopefully have a new post for you tomorrow, but until then, have a Happy Saturday!

Green Waves

Took this with my cell phone camera, hence the graininess. "In the Lime Light(Neon)" by China Glaze with a Konad stamped on top using "Blue" Konad Special Polish.

Game of Thrones House Sigils

So for those of you who are also fans of the novels by George R.R. Martin, and a fan of the HBO series
Game of Thrones, you probably know Season 2 is fast approaching. And to be honest, I'm dying of
excitement. I love the first season, and can't wait for the next one.
To show my support, I painted each House's Sigil on my nails, I used the one's off of the coasters.

Whole Hand

Left to Right: Stark, Targaryen, Lannister and Baratheon

Bad close up on the Thumb.
The base for these was "Fast Track" by China Glaze, from their Hunger Games Collection. I hand painted all the Sigils, and the words on my thumb. Terribly sorry by the way for the blurriness, it was the best picture I could get. Maybe when I get some money I'll purchase a new camera.
Enjoy!

The Girl on Fire

I have another Hunger Games themed mani for you lovelies today.
This one I'm sure you've seen plenty of already, but I felt I should try my own slightly
altered take on it. Keep reading for more details.

Whole hand.

Close up of the thumb nail.

So for the base I used "Foie Gras" by China Glaze (The Hunger Games Collection). I painted on flames, and did the Mockingjay pin on my ring and thumb finger nails. I topped the flames off with a custom mix of glitter to make it look like ashes.

Smoking Agro

Today's mani, using the colour "Agro" from the Hunger Games Collection by China Glaze. It got the most votes from my pals on Facebox.

So after getting the tallied up votes from yesterday, Agro came out on top, but only by one vote. After trying a couple different things (and none of them working) I came up with this magical idea. So the base is Agro, while I sponged on a black gradient using "Black Creme" from Wet N' Wild. The smoke, which looks more like cobwebs, was created by doing a watermarble. The water marble was created using "White Creme" and "Clear Top Coat" by Wet N' Wild.

Enjoy, I'll be posting more mani's using my Hunger Games polishes in anticipation of the movie.

Hunger Games by China Glaze

So I've finished reading The Hunger Games series, and I loved it, aside from the last book being depressing (was it just me who felt that?).
But, aside from that, I saw the actual collection ages ago, and fell in love, then after seeing various swatches from the other Nail Polish Blogs I decided which colours I had to make a mad dash for.
So here they are:

Left to Right: Agro, Foie Gras, Dress Me Up and Fast Track

So after ripping open the packaging of my newest little joys, I thought maybe I had made a mistake in my choice of "Foie Gras" and "Fast Track". In the bottles they didn't look so nice. Even under better light.

Fast Track

Fast Track, different pose to show the shimmer.

Different Angle to show the shimmery ones off.
I don't know, when they were in the bottles, they looked a tad off to me, but after swatching them I realized why I bought them to begin with. I'm just in love with Fast Track and Agro. I might have to go out and get a second Fast Track, I have a feeling this will be one of my go to shades like "Tempt Carnation".

So I hope you enjoyed my photos and random little comments. I pre-ordered mine from Sally's about a month ago, but as my lovely friend Carly told me (a few days back) they're in store now for a much higher price than $3.50/bottle when I ordered them. Thank you :)

Starry Night

Some simple and cute gold stars. The base colour is "Up All Night" by China Glaze. The stars were done in "Aztec Gold" foil from Dollar Nail Art. I like how simple they were to do, I just wished some of them had transferred better, but w/e it doesn't matter too much. On my other hand they look like drunken starfish =S

Sparkling White Roses

So this is almost like a Nail Fail, but not exactly. The base glitter gradient was created using Revlon's "Sparkling" which is a beautiful cold pale dusty rose colour. Although, it didn't want to fade very nicely, as in past glitter fades I can usually cover the nail tips solidly with 2-3 coats. This one took 5 coats and you can still see my tips peeking through.
Now, the white rose flower was sculpted using white acrylic, I tried at first on a fake nail for practice, then once I did nice ones on there I tried the ring finger. Big mistake. Which is why that finger is blurred, but the middle finger turned out quite nicely.

Tempting Swirls

Nov/07/2010 to Nov/10/2010
"Tempt Carnation" by China glaze with some gradient stamping using Konad's "Pink" and "White" Special Polishes. This is one of those very subtle and very quick designs.
